End User Computing is an entry-level computing qualification designed to meet the needs of persons who require the essential skills in end-user computing for business or personal productivity. It is designed to accommodate persons in formal education and employed persons. It aims to develop informed and computer-skilled participants who can apply the acquired skills to contribute towards improved productivity and efficiency in the workplace across all economic sectors.
Virtual Class Method
To participate, gain the full benefit, and complete this qualification, you must:
- Have a registered email account for notifications and communications
- Have access to a computer/laptop/tablet
- Have a stable internet connection
- Have access to Adobe Acrobat PDF reader or a similar PDF viewer
- Have access to the Microsoft Office Suite or alternate applications that can create, read, and edit (documents, spreadsheets, and presentations files), as well as have the ability to export documents into PDF files
- Use the latest version of Firefox/Internet Explorer/Chrome web browser when accessing the Virtual Learning Environment
Classroom Based
- Although computers will be available in the class for practicals if for your convenience you prefer to bring your own computer you are welcome to do so.
- Although not mandatory access to the computer outside of the class will assist you in doing your homework and assignments.
- Assignments, tasks, or homework are integral parts of learning and assessment and are compulsory.
This qualification is a facilitator-led classroom or interactive virtual classroom-based depending on your choice. You will receive academic support and guidance from your Course Facilitator with all Formative and Summative Assessment submissions.
